Sudden and unexpected physical pain is a reminder by the body to do
something differently.
I strained my lower back and have been in the grip of intense muscle
spasms since last night. I remember my bondo boxing instructor emphasizing
the importance of holding core strengthening postures to prevent injury in
sudden movement. When this injury has healed, I am embarking on core
strengthening exercises like Pilates in addition to the aerobics I have
been doing for years.
...
And - In order to do what I do creatively, I need a selective experience
and variety of input and inspiration. I maintain that a balance is
necessary for a healthy core both of the body and the mind.
