I attended Zen & the Art of the Arts and especially enjoyed the work of
photographer Michael West. I have always liked encaustic painting and
with photographs it is as beautiful and mysterious. I had a great relaxing
day even though it was very busy. For once, not a contradiction in terms.
Having experienced such deep satisfaction from the solo process of Durga,
Ugra, and Daksinakali recordings, I have embarked upon another in the
series. The name of it and a sound bite will be available on the site
soon. The sounds recorded here at home and at the park featured on Ugra
resulted in a most evocative world. I am enjoying utilizing different
microphones and different recording techniques so that the imperfect raw
lo-fi recordings exist even within the digital sterility. This to me is a
reflection upon the nature of things.
