Having an iPhone means you can listen to internet radio when standing in (or "on" as traditionally said in New York) lines and /or other public places like the grocery store or the train station and make that time productive and informative. I do this even with 3G and wifi turned off. I also use the iPod in the iPhone to enjoy podcasts.
