” …. a noose around his innocence. ” Stayed up until 4 a.m. this morning completing Mishima’s ‘Spring Snow’ . Tonight in the cycle of four novels , I begin # 2 : ‘Runaway Horses.’ Mishima’s writing is psychologically detailed and passionate, violent and sad in its explorations into the folly of human nature, cultural expectations, and social strata. .

Today was windy and overcast and cool. Beautiful weather for late June.

And this entire past week has been one festering with doom. It seems that all around me, people are in a state of defeat while buckling down the hatch.

For some reason, the ONLY reaction all of this has had within me is to keep hearing that fairy tale, Chicken Little : ” THE SKY IS FALLING ! THE SKY IS FALLING ! ”

Back to my Mishima.
