The set list for San Francisco is shaping up. I asked subscribers to the Living Rumor what songs they wanted to hear and have included some of the most popular suggestions in the set list. I leave for L.A. to begin rehearsing with guitarist William Faith on Nov 7. After the performance in San Francisco, I will stay on in California for several days to record with Kris Force (Amber Asylum) at her place in Pacifica on the beach. I love it there so I’m really looking forward to it. ALSO: the bizarre and wonderful DISSECTED c.d. is set to arrive this month in a few weeks along with the NAILED HEART ! . . .

Today I listened to several songs by Muddy Waters on NPR (National Public Radio for those outside the U.S. reading this), and I was struck by the earthy sexuality of his work. His work is as inspirational to me as that of legendary performers Janis Joplin and Maria Callas. … …

Thich Nhat Hanh : “If you listen to much to the suffering , the anger of other people, you will be affected. You will be in touch only with suffering, and you won’t have the opportunity to be in touch with other, positive elements. This will destroy your balance. Therefore, in your daily life, you have to practice so that you can be in touch with elements that do not constantly express suffering: the sky, the birds, the trees, the flowers, children–whatever is refreshing, healing, and nourishing in us and around us. ”
