The Jarboe family came to America in the 1600’s from the Dijon region of France. Records show an original spelling of the first Jarboe to come over from France was Garbo. The family owned a considerable amount of land. This continued to be the major interest of the family through the years. The family land was important to my mother. She and I made trips there together throughout her lifetime. Grandfather’s farmland was 435 acres. Since my mother’s death in November 2003, her life has been in my thoughts. My mother was born on this day, March 4. She taught me the meaning of love and she is in my heart.
