I looked down in awe at the vast expanse of the Rocky Mountains late this afternoon from the airplane window. We were flying into the sun. The palette of the view was rust brown, sand, taupe, a pale blue sky, a snaking white river … I’m writing now from Pacifica . The ocean is raging as the winds whip violently. It has been raining so heavily that houses have fallen into the ocean. As I fall asleep tonight, I will visualize a clear sky and see myself running along the beach and hiking up the bluff in an effort to will the atmosphere to this end. I’m looking forward to gazing over the Pacific from the top of the bluff in mental preparation for the upcoming concert on Friday with Neurosis.
