Stimulation : I’ve been deep in thought about Steve Reich’s “music theater” piece, “The Cave” for two days now and unable to get it out of my system. It is one of the most thought provoking works I have ever seen. Not only is it so for the composition but also for reasons that remind me of what disturbed me immediately about my time in Jerusalem. A selectivity and subliminal bias that rallies my natural tendency to sympathize with the contextualized unsung hero and in defense -challenge popular or majority rule. ………Stimulation : I’m obsessed with the design of Maison Martin Margiela and in particular a vest made from playing cards and a pair of dark burnished red tabi boots. Walking into MMM is like walking into a sensual holy shrine . It is a sacred spot of divine creativity that sings to my soul. I have been constant in my understanding for Margiela’s ideas from the very beginning of his career emerging from Antwerp and coming to Paris. If there is one designer who completely speaks my language with visual presentation and sublime commentary, it is Martin Margiela.
