I am writing from Florence, Italy. This morning I finally saw (after 12 years of dreaming about it) La Specola. It did not disappoint. It is one of the most stunning places I have ever been in my life. The detailed wax anatomicals were beautiful but the numerous framed illustrations in the rooms were truly breath-taking. I cannot stress enough how mandatory a visit to this magnificent museum is for all artists and those seeking inspiration and a brush with the divine. The palette of this city is cream and faded dark rose red with multiple shades of brown. There are accents of gray and green but the dominant tones are the faded red and cream. The history of this city is powerful and I am deeply grateful to be here.
