This album was conceived during the rhetoric I observed in particular from one of the candidates of the 2016 United States Presidential election whilst I was simultaneously during that period reading the love poems of Rumi. The lyrics are on the site in the Words section. The song Holiness also addresses loss and disillusionment as is a central theme of the album as well as anger and remorse and the duality of love.I deliberately wanted to have a red white and blue palette with my portrait and a contrasting 60’s psychedelic image alongside it. This is because red white blue reflect the colors of the American flag ergo the election, but the shadowy blue is also used to portray a state of reflection and ennui. Psychedelia as on the multi-colored image reflects the protest era of America and the Rainbow of Inclusion for human rights which I feel is again alive today in the resistance.
